Risk Management Update


The Goldfarb Foundation will present the Risk Management Update at the 2018 Clinical Conference. The update is scheduled from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Greater Philly Expo Center in Oaks, PA.  The Risk Management Update will offer 2.0 CE Contact Hours for podiatrists. A complimentary dinner for Risk Management registrants with be available from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm, prior to the start of the meeting.  The registration fee for Risk Management is $95 and does include the above mentioned dinner.

Amputations: It Can Happen to Anyone


This program will focus on amputation cases and the lessons that can be learned from them in order to improve patient outcomes and reduce risk.

Learning Objectives

 At the end of the lecture, attendees will be able to:

1)  Identify legal issues in cases that result in amputations
2)  Identify vascular/infectious disease issues in cases that may result in amputations
3)  Understand proper use and timing of consults
4)  Review essential documentation for patients at risk for amputation
5)  Provide effective communication with patients at risk for amputation

Michelle Butterworth, DPM


Dr. Michelle Butterworth, DPM.Dr. Butterworth is a practicing Foot and Ankle Surgeon in Kingstree, South Carolina. She is certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is the Chief of Medical Staff at Williamsburg Regional Hospital.

Dr. Butterworth serves on the Board of Directors for the Podiatry Institute, on the Credentials Committee and Cognitive Exam Committee for ABFAS and on the Education and Legislative Committees for the SCPMA. Dr. Butterworth is a Past President of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and served on the College’s Board of Directors. She is also a Past President for the SCPMA.
