Event Details
The Assistants Program is held in conjunction with the Goldfarb Foundation Clinical Conference at the Valley Forge Casino Resort.  The Assistants Program is scheduled for Friday, November 10 & Saturday, November 11 and will be comprised of two tracks: Track 1, the administrative track, and Track 2, the exam track.  

Assistants Track 1 - Administrative

The administrative track is for those assistants who have either already taken Track 2 and passed the exam or for those who are not yet ready to take Track 2. The following topics will be discussed during Track 1:

  • Patient Education: The Assistant’s Role in Educating the Podiatric Patient—What Works?
  • BAKO Education Series
  • Medical Emergency Introduction: CPR Review
  • HIPAA: Security Risk Analysis 
  • Child and Elder Abuse
  • Dealing with Difficult Patients and Staff: Conflict Resolution Strategies to Increase Practice Success
  • Risk Management: The Assistant’s Role in Medical Documentation and Customer Service  
  • Radiology Review

 Assistants Track 2 - ASPMA Review & Exam Program 

Track 2 is designed for those who need to take the ASPMA Certification Exam; day 1 of the meeting is a review of the following topics to prepare you to take the exam on day 2 of the meeting:
  • Anatomy/Biomechanics
  • Clinical Testing and Procedures
  • General Information/Knowledge of Podiatry and Administrative Responsibilities
  • Medical Emergencies & CPR
  • Radiology
  • Surgical Assisting & Instrumentation
  • Terminology
Effective July 1, 2013, Assistants MUST BE a member of ASPMA three months (90 days) prior to registering for the exam.

If you register for Track 2, please be aware that you must complete two separate registrations in order to be completely registered for the meeting. You must register with the Goldfarb Foundation either online or through fax/mail and you must also register with ASPMA by completing this form and mailing it to Beth Rudy, PMAC.
